My name is Vara Adams and I am a psychiatric survivor. This is the official site for downloading my first album "No Means Yes".

"No Means Yes" seeks to expose the dishonesty of mainstream psychiatry and its supporters, encourage those who stay true to themselves despite the problems they face in their lives and the keep the promises I made to myself during my own struggles.

I offer this album on my web site for you to download as you wish. Please listen to the songs, then pay what they are worth to you.

PRAISE FOR "NO MEAN YES"

"We at the MindFreedom office downloaded and paid for the first three songs and we really enjoyed them. It's great hearing a combination of skilled artistic creativity and clarity about massive change in the mental health system. We look forward to this album's full release!"

David Oaks, Mindfreedom International

"I listened to the songs and love them.  I even donated $25."

Oryx Cohen, Co-Founder of The Freedom Center

"I downloaded the songs.  They are a bit jarring, but good.  The jarringness is appropriate, of course.  I think I'll probably donate something."

Jim Gottstein, PsychRights

"I'm so inspired by your courage to get out there and warn, through your art, the many people who are currently being lied to and misdirected toward bogus treatments and dangerous drugs."

Kate Ceberano, singer

"Vara's album helps to educate not only other artists but the general public about harmful drugs and treatments. Thankyou for making known your experiences and thoughts in your songs."

Oona Pringle, OzNoise Entertainment Australia

FUNDING

Vanaheim Group has funded the recording and production of the album and this web site. Its own funding ran out at three songs, but Vanaheim Group has agreed that the proceeds of the first three songs should be used to complete the album.

Once the album is complete, and its costs are met, Vanaheim Group's share of the proceeds will be used to further its aims in offering support and information to people who seek alternatives to psychiatry.

Like me, Vanaheim Group is strongly opposed to psychiatric coercion and violence, and promotes self-determination and personal responsibility.

PRODUCTION

"No Means Yes" was produced by Evripides Evripidou at his Melbourne studio.
